Has anyone set up more than one State depreciation area in the US?

Hello.

 

Has anyone out there addressed the issue of differences between US state depreciation calculations by setting up more than one State depreciation area?

 

In my last implementation I only had to set up one area; specifically SMACRS (State Modified ACRS).

Regarding Error while running ASKB

Hi SAP Guru's

 

We have very hard time finding way out for this for following error

when I went all down in this error. It is mention about adding profit center in line item. But I am not sure how to do that. I tried different ways checking document from FI-CO-AA side. but I am not getting it. Following points needs to clarify

 

1. As per the error it mention that when user enter manually FI document he/she forget to add profit center but I checked FI document it has profit center

2. I run ASKB as background job too but still I am getting same error.

3. I checked Assets Account assignment in Ao90 that looks as user want

4. We have U accounts for Depreciation area 45 that have all required assignment as user provided for assets.

5. I am not getting when you run ASKB this posting is asking for profit center that I don't know.

6. As SAP error mention in Diagnosis about checking error message in table YHY1. I am not sure about it because I am not much ABAP person. I mention this issue to my ABAP team member but he is not here for some day.

 

Problem

 

Due to this problem we are not able to close period end for company code. Can any of you please explain or help me to solve this error ASAP.

issue with FBWE(Bills of exchange presentation)

Hi Everyone,

 

While running the fbwe t-code, I am getting the error as " Documents are included in previous proposal which is unprocessed status."

So, what is the procedure to exclude those documents from other proposal, So that It can be picked up by the system now.

 

your inputs are much appreciated on this.

Depriciation key for WDV according to useful life

Dear Gurus,

Is there any way that we can create depreciation key based on useful life based calculation and not on percentage based.

 

It is for WDV method of depreciation.

Asset Low value asset Local Books Posting Issue

Hi SAP SDN,

 

Our client requirement is they want Low value asset configuration and they want to post only in Local ledger i.e. (SL)

We have created new depreciation area 60

 

 

Created New asset class: 5000

 

Specify the Low Value Asset Check - T Code OAY2

Specify Amount for Low Value Asset T Code OAYK



Deactivating Depreciation areas except area 60 in asset class 5000 : OAYZ



Document Posted through T.code : ABZON



And now we going T.code  AW01N double click Line items it is not showing the document.



We got below error.



It is not possible to display a document from Financial Accounting!

Message no. A3004

Diagnosis

The system cannot display a document from Financial Accounting that corresponds to the selected Asset Accounting document. This can be for one of the reasons below:

  • The document is an internal Asset Accounting document, with no effect on the General Ledger.
  • The document comes from the legacy data transfer for assets.

 

Procedure

Choose another document.

 

 

and in T.code : ARAL  it is showing below error

 

Period 01 is not allowed

Message no. F5567

Diagnosis

The period entered (01) is different from the period calculated (10) and is also not in the interval for special periods (013 to 016).

System Response

Error.

Procedure

Correct the value entered for the posting period.

 

 

We know ASKB or AKSBN need to run but User want post directly Post with out run ASKB or ASKBN

 

Kindly Advise us.

Depriciation key creation issue.

Dear Experts,

 

 

I have recently completed
configuration for bonus depreciation (Applicable for USA) that is working fine
with the help of created Define Multi-Level Method and Depreciation key.

 

 

During testing we have found for some
specific asset classes we need depreciation to be calculated on 50% value of
the asset  (After bonus depreciation of
50%) for the placed in service months.

 

 

So I have created a depreciation key with
multilevel method including bonus depreciation of 50% but that is not working.

 

 

Calculation is attached and also as
follows.

 

 

Acquisition Value $ 120386.94

 

 

Acquisition Date 31-08-2015 (Fiscal
year followed April to March, so used for 8 months in the fiscal year)

 

 

Bonus Depreciation $ 60193.47 (50% of
Acquisition value.)

 

 

Ordinary Depreciation $ 13376.33 (NBV after Bonus
/ useful life 36 month*placed in service 8 months e.g. = 60193.47/36 *8)

 

 

 

 

 

All these calculation is for Tax depreciation

 

 

 

 

 

Please flash some ray on it so that I could
able to achieve it.

Restrict asset life based on Asset class

Hi Friends,

 

When you create an asset in AS01, by default the asset life will pick from asset class. If there is 10years of life in asset class, the same will pick in asset master data. After created, if we change the asset in AS02   the life can also change to 15 years as the asset class only having 10years. can we restrict this field to allow only 10years and less than 10 years instead of greater value.

Dear Sir,

As per new company act 2013 , there have been amendment related to Depreciation , the changes relate to "Asset Useful Life Period" etc .

 

To give a clear picture about the problem being faced in compliance of new company act 2013 , is given below a detail of a sample business case :

 

Say there are 4 different Assets under "Plant Machinery" and WDV Depreciation method is followed and these Assets were capitalized in different years and had useful life span of 15 years defined at the time of capitalization and 5% scrap value after 15 years norm was fixed  and WDV Rate was 18.1%.

 

The Asset wise details are as below :

We had defined a Depreciation Key say "ZA1" with rate 18.1% in the existing ECC-6.0 and it was working fine till 31/03/2014

 

Now , Say as per Company Act 2013 , the useful life norm has been changed to say 12 years . Here is now the actual problem being faced by us , as Asset A1 to be depreciated to scrap value of 5000 in next 2 years and similarly Asset A2, A3,A4 over years of 3,4,5 years respectively .

So this require new Depreciation Keys each having different Depreciation Rate .

Practically speaking , defining of new Depreciation key for each Asset seems impossible and seems a very inefficient  method .

 

We request , SAP experts , to guide us about the correct procedure to be followed , to address the above requirement please .

Asset is not picked in AFAB

Depreciation values are displayed in AW01 but AFAB is not picking up the asset for depreciation,

Please suggest on this issue

Deactivating depreciation area for a specific comapny code

Dear Guru's,

 

My client whats to deactivate the depreciation area for a specific company code from year 2013, Will this requirement be possible? But when i checked the depreciation area(Tax depreciation area), of a chart of depreciation(BBB) is assigned to two company codes. Hence deactivating depreciation area at chart of depreciation/asset class is not feasible since it will impact the other company. Is there any other solution for deactivating depreciation area(Tax depreciation area) from year 2013.

WBS settled asset cost to reduce

Hi Experts,

 

I have one issue regarding last year end through wbs settlement asset value came and depreciation is running from this year onward.Now user want to reduce the cost form asset value.

 

Note: WBS cost came through PO.

 

Please suggest any one if creating credit memo for that asset which offset accounting has to give?

Asset Impairment

1. PURPOSE:

An asset that is worth less on the market than the value listed on the company's balance sheet due to an unexpected or sudden decline or antiquity innovation change, this could be the result of physical demage to the asset.

 

2. REQUIREMENT:

IFRS requirement, Impairment of some Asset could be carried out.

 

3. CONFIGURATION STEP:

3.1. Go to tcode OABW to check revalue APC in the depreciation area where you want to post. This would help in identifying the area where the Impairment will have to posted.

3.2. Go to tcode OAYR and select your company code. Then click on the posting rule.

In the book depreciation area, go to Other posting settings. Check on "Post revaluation".

This setting is required for posting the impairment amount.

3.3. Go to tcode AO90 and create a revaluation APC for each fixed asset class and clearing account Revalutaion APC.

The revaluation APC has to be a reconciliation account and the revaluation clearing is P/L account.

3.4. Go to tcode AO84 to create Transaction type, example "Z80", "Z81", "Z82", "Z83"

- Z80: Impairment Loss (Prior-Yr acq.)

3.5. Go to tcode ACSET and select the company code, then choose Book depreciation area, add account assignment object "KOSTL" - cost center and account assignment type "Depreciation Run".

This setting is required cost center for posting the impairment GL account when Depreciation Run.

4. BUSINESS SCENARIO:

- Post impairment asset: Tcode ABAW:

Now, go to tcode ABAW, select the asset to be impaired. Put the transaction type as Z81, press Enter.

In the next screen give an asset value date, amount to be posted as Impairment. Now, click Save.

An asset accounting document will be generated.

NOTE: This impairment amount will NOT be posted automatically. Once depreciation run takes place then only the amount gets posted to GL account.

Depreciation not getting posted till the end of useful life

Hi,

We have created depreciation key for WDV method as per note 2052506 India: Companies Act solution effective from 01.04.2014 - New Depreciation engine.

 

We have asset with useful life of say 60 years. To this asset we have assigned the new depreciation key. However the asset is not getting depreciated till the end of useful. The value reaches to its scrap value before the end of useful life. Due to this the amount of depreciation posted is incorrect.

 

 

My understanding is the depreciation should post over the useful life of asset. Request your help to rectify the same.

I've executed S_ALR_87012075 - Asset History in background. However, when I display the spool, it is in list format. Can I change it to ALV format?

Sudden fallen in planned values - Depreciation reversed & posted.

Dear Experts,

 

Depreciation calculated correctly till Sept.2015, during October it reversed all the values which calculated from Jan-Sept (2015) and posted as debit values in accumulated depreciation.

 

For October depreciation supposed to be posted for 917.07 (excluding subsequent acquisition for 9,600) which is the last period to calculate depreciation and net book value should be zero based on useful life.

 

Planned values for depreciation during September is -173,122.92, however it reversed the values during October for 115,415.28 and currently it is showing as -43,280.73.

 

As a temporary solution i reversed the depreciation posted for October (in main ledger) to proceed for books close, then i tried to do the unplanned depn. however it is allowing me to post the net book value available in Planned Values tab instead of Posted Values tab, if i try for entire amount it throwing the error as "You should post the values up to "amount" in Book Depn 01"

 

I would like to know why the posted values reversed and what is the solution for this issue. Please help.

Exchange gain loss for assets

Business scenario is to post P&L GL accounts for exchange difference while doing MIRO of an asset.

ASIS: MIRO of an asset from GRIR value diffrence of Exchange is posted in asset GL.

Am getting an error message # ACRSL030 " Specifications of Ordinary depreciation are not consistent " which am trying to post the transaction ABAWN . Could someone throw light where I can go and check the settings to fix this error message.
